How to Find the Best Yoga Studios in Toronto

December 31, 2008 - First off, congratulations go out to a number of TYG member studios for making BlogTO's list of the best Yoga studios in Toronto. As the New Year approaches, thousands of Toronto procrastinators will vow to move from the couch to the mat as they begin or renew their Yoga practice. This article provides a great place to start. There are a number of other excellent resources (aside from TYG, of course) that can help you find the right place to practice Yoga in Toronto. For the big picture, check out Yoga Directory Canada for listings of Yoga teachers and students from all across Canada. (On a side note, I met the nice people that run this site in spring of 2008. This was when we were first planning TYG and they gave us lots of great advice and encouragement.) On a more local level, there's the Yoga Toronto site with a directory of studios, teachers, workshops and events throughout the city. For those who want to test the water at a number of studios, check out the very cool Passport to Prana initiative. You get a pass that lets you take a Yoga class at over 30+ participating studios in the city for only $30. Not only does this help you find the right fit, but it's also a great way to explore the vast amount of diversity in the Toronto Yoga community!
