Tell us about yourself and your Studio/Centre.
I am primarily a Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra teacher. I practice & teach in my home studio, Freedom Yoga Studio in Belle River, Ontario. I offer weekly “Random Acts of Yoga” which is a free basic level donation based class. 100% of donations collected are offered to a local in-need charity or group.

What styles of yoga you offer? Does your Studio specialize in one?
I offer Hatha & Vinyasa based classes. My specialty is Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra.

What makes your teachings or Studio/Centre unique?
Freedom Yoga Studio is an intimate home studio that offers Private Instruction & small group Beginners Instruction. I offer students the opportunity to practice & learn one-on-one.

Do you or your Studio/Centre provide other services other than yoga?
I am thrilled to offer iRest® Yoga Nidra on a Private & Group basis. In Fall 2013 I will be offering this practice to those suffering from a chemical dependency or chronic pain or illness.

I also offer Aromatherapy Yoga Workshops & Private Sessions.

I also offer Dasti Yoga classes which blends the beauty of meditation & hand-weaving.

Do you have a favorite yoga posture? And why?
I love Camatkarasana! Brings a smile to my face every time!

What teachers or teachings have inspired your practise?
I have been blessed to have studied with some of Ontario’s greatest teachers. I’ve been most influenced by the lovely Carolyn Weatherson of Maha Pura Yoga in Guelph, Ontario & the spirited Dianne Bondy of Eastside Yoga Studio in Windsor, Ontario. Kelly Henley of Bright Yoga in Essex, Ontario has infused my Yoga journey with both beauty & kindness.

I am most inspired by playful calm of Bernie Clark’s Yin teachings.

I am heavily influenced by the teachings of Mahatma Ghandi. My heart shines when I experience the teachings of Lama Marut.

When did you begin practising and/or teaching yoga?
I began my practice about 10 years ago. I spent a number of years cultivating a strong home practice before bringing myself to a studio setting 2 or 3 years ago. I’ve been teaching regularly since the beginning of 2012.

When did you open your studio or centre?
Freedom Yoga Studio opened in January 2012
